05 June 2014 is the day!
We have received written confirmation that ARA will have their Victorian Control of Weapons Exemption granted on 05 June 2014.
Many said it would never happen. They were wrong.
We have just received written confirmation from the Victorian Department of Justice that explicitly informs us that the updated Exemption Order for swords and the new Exemption Order for daggers will be submitted to the Governor in Council on 3 June and, if approved, be gazetted on Thursday 5 June. The Australian Re-enactors Association has been included in the proposed Orders.
But don't take our word for it! Once it has been gazetted, we will publish them on the ARA Website.
It will be just in time to be of value to those reenactors who have been holding off while this has run it's course. What good timing!
