Authenticity

Authenticity or “Historical Accuracy” is a noble pursuit and should be encouraged in all forms of re-enactment.
 
However, because authenticity levels, periods and styles, or even what the word "authenticity" means is different for many groups and individuals it does not fit under the ‘common interests’ of re-enactors.

It is therefore an area best managed by groups and individuals in accordance with their own choice and preference.
 
After all, the group(s) you belong to will know best how they want to represent themselves to the public, other re-enactors and to potential new members, so who are we to dictate?
